Things We’re Loving – Valentine’s Day Edition

Hello February!

With the holiday season in the rearview mirror, most people think of February as a cold, dark and boring. If you’re looking for a little light and positivity this month, you’ve come to the right place! So much goes on during this short month. Some of the events that take place during February are Groundhogs Day, The Super Bowl, Black History Month, American Heart Month and, a personal favorite of mine, National Ice Cream for Breakfast Day!

As significant as these annual events are, you can’t help but think of February as the month of LOVE. Every February 14th Americans celebrate Valentine’s Day by going out to eat, giving gifts or sending flowers to their loved ones. This year we are celebrating our team members by highlighting the things that they’re currently loving.
SPOILER – These responses are way better than a box of chocolates or a dozen roses!

Mallory Minor (CFO) – Here are a couple things I’m loving:

  • Chicken pot pie recipe
  • Cooling eye balm from Tula
  • Eucalyptus Epsom salt baths
  • Playing Matching & Farkle with my kids

Heidi Anshutz (Marketing Director) – I love to start off a new year with a new planner and a fresh perspective on the year ahead. Sometimes it is hard to stay consistent and use the planner throughout the year. Only because I am easily distracted by the next new planner I see! But I have been loving my Spaces Planner! I have been using it for the past 4 years- which is a record for me!

Who would I be to not include my love for pens along with my planner! No office supply should be left out! I have some new pens I have been trying out and love how they can bring fun to any to do list!

I have also really leaned into my sewing hobby. I enjoy making things for myself and others to enjoy. Recently I made 5 Quilts for my family for Christmas gifts. It was fun and rewarding to see their excitement when they opened their quilt with their theme! I am aging well with my senior citizen hobby! 😊

Other things I still love and will always love…

  •            Fish tacos
  •            Floral Accents
  •            Motivational Quotes

Emily Hagen (HR Director) – I started a free online 30-day yoga challenge that has been really fun! Yoga with Adriene if anyone wants to check it out!!

Kaitlyn Luebbert (Regional Property Supervisor) – Something super simple that our family is currently loving are our new “Bentgo” boxes! You can find them on Amazon. I got one for both Matt and I, and a kids one for our daughter, Waverly. She is obsessed with her “snack box”

Bobbi Anderberg (Mitchell Property Manager) – I am currently loving Mitchell’s local Game Changer Nutrition shop! They offer a wide variety of different healthy shakes, teas, and protein snacks. They have a different shake and tea of the day every day. The prices are cheaper than most people’s Starbucks order! It also has deep roots in faith and community. That’s my current love!

Andrea Hogie (Staff Accountant) – I have a couple things I’m loving right now:

  • My new job at Mills Property Management came at the perfect time in my life!  I absolutely love it here.
  • Being a grandparent.  I always heard from other grandparents that it was the greatest thing ever. They weren’t wrong! I have two grandsons, Jaxon (18 months) and Landon (4 months), who live in Oregon.  I don’t get to see them nearly as often as I want to, but thank goodness for FaceTime. We are anxiously awaiting our third grandbaby any day now and will find out gender at that time. They live in Rapid City so it will be a lot easier to see them.

Erin Ebsen (Maintenance & Home Services Administrative Specialist) – Right now I am loving my kiddos and my puppy!

Darrell Behrens (Brookings Property Cleaner) – What I’m loving at this time is this new adventure of a job working here. It really does feel like a family. I feel loved by my coworkers and my supervisor. I’m told that I’m doing a good job. I don’t feel like I’m just an employee here. I love how I feel like a person, and not just any person, like a great big family.
