Non-Traditional Ways to Celebrate Halloween

For as long as I can remember Halloween has been celebrated with putting on a costume, running from house to house & ringing door bells to eagerly shout “TRICK OR TREAT” in hopes of a king-sized candy bar. Here are a few non-traditional activities you and your family can incorporate for a fang-tastic holiday.

Scary Movie Marathon
Gather your friends, set up the projector & pop some popcorn – it’s time for a movie marathon! The first step is taking a look at your local forecast. Everyone loves an outdoor movie moment, but if it’s predicting cold, rainy or (pardon my language) snowy weather, set up shop indoors with a plethora of cozy blankets and pillows. The second, and most important, step is to provide the movie watching snacks. Keep everything on theme and spook-ify your treats.

Send Halloween Cards
When it comes to greeting card holidays, don’t forget about Halloween! Surprise your friends and family with a homemade card this year. If you enjoy crafting – gather your cardstock, markers, ribbon, googly eyes, etc. and go crazy. If DIY isn’t your thing – add some Halloween greeting cards to your shopping list. Bonus points if you send candy!

Host a Candy Hunt
Believe it or not, but hunting for candy isn’t just for Easter. Try hosting a candy hunt for everyone in your neighborhood. Instead of putting candy in colored eggs, just scatter fun sized sweet treats around your yard and let the kids loose.

Make a KILLER Meal
All ghouls and goblins are hungry for a hot meal, especially on Halloween night! Put spooky a twist on a family favorite and embrace the gory goodies.
