As many of you know, the beloved Christmas tune goes, “I’ll be home for Christmas, you can plan on me.” During the 2020 Holiday season, those iconic & sincere lyrics are more literal than ever. Amid the global pandemic, many of us are opting out of large group gatherings & choosing to celebrate Christmas on a smaller, more intimate scale. If this is how you plan on observing the merriest of holidays, stick around – we’ve included a few fun & memorable ways to celebrate while staying home.
- Start your Morning with a Make Ahead FEAST
Sleeping in, gathering around the tree & opening presents takes a lot of work… which is why we only do it once per year. Any more and we’d probably combust. You’ll want to replenish afterwards with a big breakfast. Aim for recipes you can put together the night before so the only finger you have to lift on Christmas morning is the one pre-heating the oven. - Christmas Karaoke – Need I Say More?
All artistic and musical talents can be thrown out the door, along with the fruitcake that always seems to make an appearance. Let loose with your loved ones and belt out your favorite Christmas tune. Turn things up a notch and invest in a karaoke machine & microphone. - Get Outside
Weather permitting, get some fresh air and get outdoors. If you live in a state where you have snow on Christmas morning, take advantage of the beautiful scenery & carve out some time to make a snowman, go sledding or ice skating at a local pond. If the weather isn’t so nice outside, you can always hop in the car & look at everyone’s Christmas lights. Extra credit if you make a cup of hot cocoa to-go! - Christmas Movie Marathon
Pop some popcorn, slip into your most festive Christmas jammies, get cozy & queue up your favorite holiday flicks. Make the most of staying put by binge watching Christmas movies all day long.
