Not sure if home-ownership is your thing? Renting a home or an apartment can be an ideal option for those who are looking for more flexibility & less responsibilities. Many individuals choose to rent instead of buying for many different reasons. If you’re still on the fence, here are a few benefits of renting.

Zero Cost Maintenance
Renters have such an advantage when it comes to maintenance & home repairs. There is no cost! When you choose to rent you avoid major expenses such as a leaky roof or a refrigerator on a downward spiral. If there are any maintenance related issues in your unit, it’s as easy as calling your property manager to create a work order. Homeowners are left with the dirty work of either fixing the issue themselves or contacting a repair company and the hefty payment once the problem is resolved.

No Long-Term Commitment
If you don’t plan on planting your roots in the same city for the next few years, renting is the way to go! When you purchase a home, you should expect to live there for the next 5 plus years. If you can’t make a 5-year commitment to the same city/location, purchasing a home probably isn’t the right choice.

Less to Clean
Houses are typically larger than apartments, so that means there is more square footage that you will need to dust, mop & vacuum! Depending on the size of your apartment, you’ll probably spend less time cleaning & more time living vs. a homeowner.

Amenities
Depending on where you live, some properties offer a smorgasbord of amenities! Some of these premium amenities may include in-home laundry, underground parking, pet friendly units, 24-hour emergency maintenance services & high-end stainless-steel appliances.
